A Sparkling Success: Highlights from Fizzy Fest 2025 in Marlow

Thousands of glasses poured, hundreds of guests welcomed, and one mission accomplished: to celebrate Prosecco like never before.

In July, Fizzy Fest 2025 lit up Marlow with sparkle, flavour, and a touch of Italian magic. Organised by Kristyna Weston, founder of Fizzy Happiness and La Dolce Bolla, the two-day celebration was dedicated to the elegance of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG — Italy’s finest expression of Prosecco, and one of the world’s most underrated sparkling wines.

Friday: A Masterclass in Taste

The festival opened with an exclusive industry tasting and a sold-out Prosecco Masterclass, where guests gathered for a guided tasting led by none other than Sarah Abbott MW, one of the UK’s most respected wine voices, for an expert-led deep dive into the beauty and complexity of Conegliano Valdobbiadene.

Adding a special Italian sparkle to the evening was Giulia Pussini, representative of the Consorzio di Tutela del Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco, who flew in from Italy to share insights into the heritage and artistry behind these remarkable wines. From the first glass, guests were reminded that this is no ordinary fizz.

Saturday: A Festival of Fizz, Community, and Discovery

Despite a few early showers, 459 guests came together on Saturday for a sun-drenched day of celebration. And what a day it was — filled with tastings, music, and the unmistakable joy of sharing a glass of something truly special.

We were thrilled to see so many loyal faces from the La Dolce Bolla community, alongside countless new visitors discovering proper Italian Prosecco for the very first time. The energy was contagious, and the spirit of la dolce vita was alive.

Adding to the excitement, winemakers from Italy joined us in person, pouring their wines and sharing the stories behind their craft. It was a rare chance to meet the people behind the bottles — from family-run vineyards nestled in the UNESCO-listed hills of Veneto.

Guests were treated to:

  • 36 wines from 8 boutique producers
  • 2,876 glasses of Prosecco poured
  • Live music from 3 singers and 2 DJs
  • Endless atmosphere, conversation, and celebration

From curated tastings to impromptu dancing, and yes — more than a few selfies with our signature Prosecco glasses and a balloon wall — Fizzy Fest wasn’t just an event, it was an experience.

What Makes This Prosecco So Special?

If you’ve only known Prosecco as the simple party pour, it’s time to meet its sophisticated sibling:

Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG.

This isn’t just a label — it’s a designation of origin and quality, reserved for wines grown on the steep, hand-tended vineyards of northeastern Italy between the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.

  • A UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Made by small, often family-run producers
  • Celebrated for complexity, finesse, and beautiful bubbles

These wines are subject to the strictest quality standards in the region, and it shows in every sip.

The Future is Fizzy

Fizzy Fest was created with one goal: to change the way the UK sees — and sips — Prosecco. Judging by the feedback, the empty glasses, and the smiles on guests’ faces, that mission is well underway.

But the celebration doesn’t end here.

At La Dolce Bolla, our Marlow wine bar and shop, the fizz keeps flowing every day. Most of the wines from the festival are already available to taste or take home — and we’re always bringing in new discoveries to keep your glass full of something special.

And as for what’s next? Let’s just say you may soon hear the sound of popping corks in another Buckinghamshire location

Whether you joined us in person or you’re just discovering the world of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco, we invite you to explore, taste, and fall in love with this extraordinary wine.

Stay in the Loop

Grazie to everyone who joined us and helped make Fizzy Fest 2025 unforgettable.

We can’t wait to raise a glass with you again soon. 🥂
